Nativity & Party

The Buchan Ward had their Primary Nativity and ward Christmas Party last night.

The children did such a great job. Natasha, Rosie and Layton were shepherd's , Rachel was an angel and Brucie was Joseph. Layton stole the show though, as most little almost 2yr old boys would. Once on stage he caught a glimpse of me and started waving and shouting 'hello mommy, hello mommy'!!! I have to admit, my heart melted my throat got a lump in it and I shed a little tear. I just felt so much gratitude that Heavenly father has allowed this beautiful little boy to come to me. After a little while Layton decided he'd had enough sitting still and went for a crawl around the stage in and out of people's legs, then decided the sheep would make better footballs and so stood up and kicked them off the stage! I discreetly tried to get closer and motioned to him to come to me, but he was having none of it, This was his time to shine on stage!!!

Rachel had spent ages learning her part, but on the evening another little angel said it, she was looking around not too sure what to do, then when Rosie's cue to do her part came someone was prompting Rachel to do it and whispering Rosie's words to her. She was a little flustered over it all, especially as she was an angel and the lines were for a shepherd. Rosie was just relieved that she didn't have to say anything and stood there with a huge smile on her face! Oh well...what's a nativity play without a few hiccups!!! The main thing was we all got to feel the wonderful Christmas spirit and got chance to embrace it's wonderful message through the carols and narative. The rest of the evening was spent playing games, and the much anticipated arrival of Santa bringing gifts! We all had a great time.
